The main bit about Spider-Man, yeah, MCU Peter is a teenager and Carol was an adult in the 90s, before Peter was even born. I think the writer forgot that Captain Marvel was set in the 90s though, as they go on to say her relationship with War Machine is also unlikely in the MCU because he's pushing 60 and she's barely over 30. However, Carol's powers clearly include slowed aging, and her MCU version would actually be pushing 60 too.

Apparently Toei Animation once planned a Silver Surfer anime (in 1979 or 1980). Ms. Marvel and the Thing would've both been supporting cast - but like their live action Spider-Man, given new Japanese secret identities. She'd have still looked like Carol in her original costume though, despite being renamed Suzuka Masumi.

Carol's second costume appears in the Ms. Marvel TV show. Apparently there's a Captain Marvel cosplay contest. Kamala of course wears an accurate Captain Marvel suit. The article writer believes the retro Carol is her friend Zoe.

His actor Samuel L Jackson is 73. Assuming Nick Fury is the same age, that means he was in his 40s in Captain Marvel (which was set in the 90s), and therefore quite a bit older than Carol, if we assume she was Brie Larson's actual age in that film.

And MCU will never give us a proper romance. Thor and Wanda got full movie or series about their Romance but Carol will be reduced to a few scenes where falling in love happened off screen. Plus Valkyrie is too strong and part of Thor franchise for any benefit to Carol Storyline. Carol needs her own Steve Trevor or Jessica Drew. Someone who makes Carol Vulnerable and is there to support her.

Not to mention the Stereotype of strong woman being lesbians.
