Agreed. Although she didn’t shy away from using Rogue. We need storylines featuring Karla, Mystique, Deathbird, and really develop the few villains most associated with Carol.

I was reading a Carol/Rogue trade and found it funny how, collecting the Thompson issue with Rogue in it, Carol's internal narration mentions how they'll probably never be friends while an issue from another writer that proceeded it (I think it was Christos Gage for AvX) called them friends.

Yeah, Carol & Rogue should never be friends. The trauma for what happened to Carol is something that just can’t be waved away. Should that make them eternal enemies? No, but she stole everything that was Carol’s. Memories, emotional ties to her loved ones. Everything.

I just can’t. I know a lot has happened, and Rogue’s character arc has changed who she was, but there’s just something there that I could never forgive had that happened to me.

I just had a thought: I wonder what Kelly could do with the Brood that we haven’t already seen before. I have a story in mind I’d love to see come to the pages, and up the Brood’s presence on the Marvel Galactic hierarchy.

The universe is more interesting when hero relationships are varied, not everybody has to be friends. Carol and Rogue respecting each other is satisfactory, but they should always have some tension between them, makes for better drama.

Am I the only one who was disappointed by the Brood King egg? This was a civilization of creatures who was patterned after the hierarchy like bees, and then suddenly a king egg and all of the female queens acquiesce to Broo after eating it?

I don't disagree necessarily, but it probably comes down to execution. I wonder if certain writers don't see it as fitting Carol's current character.
