Couldn't agree with you more. Reminds me of Captain America #22, when Cap's shield was fully restored rather miraculously (XD)

Steve at military funerals is always a thing for me....inspiring but bittersweet that it is a funeral. There was that story after Siege that he went to the funeral of the one soldier who was killed at Broxton.

Great news that Cap is getting a solo again. And Sam is getting a book too, great news.

I wonder how they'll set up the supporting cast/villains for each book?

Seems like Sam will have an international flair while Steve hits the heartland.

I hope they are similar in tone to Jurgens run. One having a similar tone and feel as Brubaker or Grunewald's run would be nice.

I haven't loved Cap in this run, but this was a good moment.

We know Steve has Bucky, and Sam has Joaquin. Probably safe to assume that Sam has Misty Knight as well.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: SENTINEL OF LIBERTY #1
Written by COLLIN KELLY & JACKSON LANZING
Art and Cover by CARMEN CARNERO
    On Sale June 2022

Speaking on the series, Kelly explained that Steve's new outlook reflects the political upheaval across the United States over the last few years. "We've seen a radical shift in our country and, especially for a lot of young people, a real fury and disappointment at what our country has started to do to itself." Nevertheless, Kelly insists that Steve's resolve and belief in what the United States can become are as firm as ever. "The core is good and worth fighting for, but both [Steve and Sam] need to wrestle with what that means in the year of our Lord 2022."
So no worries at least on my part of Steve wallowing in self pity searching for his place.
