I think I read somewhere that Hickman planned on the Krakoan plot to run it's course and come to an end faster than the point where they're at today -- but the writers of the various books were having too much fun with the overarching concept, so he backed off to give the writer's an opportunity to play in the sandbox awhile longer.
But it implies that this will be finite, and something will topple "utopia" at some point.
