2022 Scream successfully revived a franchise that was in limbo for a decade after its iconic creator passed away, and then Scream VI did even better box office just a year later/this year. Both movies were embraced by audiences and critics. I haven't even watched Wednesday and noticed my local theater audience recognizing Ortega from that role alone. I might be quoting some dramatic Simpsons moment here, but I hope they understand they'll pay for this.

They could do what MTV did with the Scream TV series and just fire the rest of the current cast and bring in a whole new cast with a whole new story. What could possibly go wrong with that?
