I am sure there are missing issues from that list. I filled in all the gaps of my collection of that era a couple of years ago with a combination of trades and floppies so I had looked pretty extensively into this.
This list of collected editions on Wikipedia will tell you what issues are in all the trades. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...ected_editions

The Triangle Era ran from ~91 if I recall up through 2001. Those trades barely scratch the surface, and unfortunately most of it remains uncollected.

Ok, so I counted all of the issues collected in the Superman trade paperbacks above.

    Superman had 55 issues collected.

Action Comics had 55 issues collected.

Man of Steel had 39 issues collected.

    Adventures had 45 issues collected.

The number of issues that span from Dark Knight Over Metropolis to Return to Krypton for each title are 130 for Action Comics, 132 for Superman, 120 for Man of Steel, and 131 for Adventures of Superman.

The rough percentage of Triangle Era Superman comics collected:

    Superman 41.6%
    Man of Steel 32.5%
    Adventures of Superman 34.3%
    Action Comics 42.3%
I fucked up and included Krisis of the Krimson Kryptonite and Dark Knight Over Metropolis, which were a little bit before the Triangle numbering, into my survey sample, so I included them too regardless. Also there might be some slight margin of error due to the fact that They Saved Luthor's Brain collects some issues from Byrne's run years before the Triangle era.

Clark_Kent is right. These collections are hardly comprehensive. I wonder what if the uncollected Triangle Era issues are mainly one and done type stories. I can also imagine that issues that tie into crossovers with the larger DC Universe such as The Final Night, Underworld Unleashed, and and Genesis are omitted from these tpbs.

One and done stories were few and far between during this era. And yeah, the trades you listed are frustrating to say the least. Many include "material from" as opposed to full issues, and the covers are either thumbnailed four to a page, or not included at all (a personal pet peeve ).

My hope is that DC just starts collecting from post-Exile and goes from there. At this point I don't mind if it's omni's, or standard HC's like the Byrne volumes, just get this **** collected already!

Combining all of the issues of Superman, Action Comics, Adventures of Superman, and Man of Steel under the Triangle banner* adds up to 513 issues. All 21 trade paperbacks collect 194 issues, so that's roughly 37.8%.

*including Krisis of the Krimson Kryptonite and Dark Lnight Over Metropolis.

I would kill for DC to give the post Exile stuff the same treatment they've been giving to Post Crisis Batman. Just put out some nice chunky trades if they don't think omnis will sell.

Yeah, the Caped Crusader and Dark Knight Detective collections are awesome, I have them all.

The next few volumes will bring us right up to the first Knightfall book, which as a collection covers Fall/Quest/End (FINALLY collected as completely as we're getting), Prodigal, Zero Hour and Troika. I'm hoping after these they cover Bat and 'Tec up to NML. I have the Moench/Jones hardcovers and the weird Dixon one from the middle of his post-Knightsaga run but I'm greedy and want it all.

Also, this year DC are releasing Batman: The Silver Age Omnibus vol 1, so there may be hope for Superman to follow suit.

In a similar vein, I loved the 'Man of Steel' tpbs for Supes and wanted that to continue. I get why they went with the huge Exile hardcover (that annoyingly won't fit on my shelf!) but really wanted either more hardcovers or for a replacement series to at least bring us up to Doomsday.

Also, I think they're done with the City of Tomorrow (my favourite Superman era) tpbs at a whopping 2 volumes, without getting halfway through the original run of tpbs (which I also have). Really annoyed by that, I was hoping for the whole run or at least through Our Worlds At War.

Oooh, and I have Superman Blue vol 1.... Still waiting on vol 2. Lol.

"Has Sariel summoned you here, Azrael? Have you come to witness the miracle of your brethren arriving on Earth?"

"I WILL MIX THE ASHES OF YOUR BONES WITH SALT AND USE THEM TO ENSURE THE EARTH THE TEMPLARS TILLED NEVER BEARS FRUIT AGAIN!"

"*sigh* I hoped it was for the miracle."

Dan Watters' Azrael was incredible, a constant delight and perhaps too good for this world (but not the Forth). For the love of St. Dumas, DC, give us more!!!

City of Tomorrow Vol. 3 and Superman Blue Vol. 2 are quickly moving up my want list, but I don't have high hopes for either.

If anything, I could see them repackaging the two existing City of Tomorrow books into one omni, then continuing from there.
