Default Did Kylo Ren kill Grogu?

It's an ugly thing to think about, but given Kylo's origin, we have to consider it a possibility. Do you think he did?

    Disney kill the golden goose?

Please, it's no where near the tiniest possibility.

They'll probably reveal that he's secretly alive somewhere still growing/training in the future

Ben Solo has been a cancerously dull, unoriginal, and disappointing failure of an appealing character concept and actor choice ever since Rian Johnson wrote TLJ’s script. And his toxic fanbase just isn’t up to snuff for what LFL wants Star Wars to make money from.

Grogu likely only exists in part because the complete self-destruction of the ST, centered around LFL loving the Kylo-centric refocusing of the story from TLJ, opened up a reason to create a stand-alone saga between the OT and ST, in which he was created to play a key part. They even let the D+ shows have a somewhat “symbolic rejection” of the ST with Luke getting his crowd-pleasing scene at the end of The Mandalorian Season 2 to become Grogu’s trainer. If they didn’t want some inferred rejection of TLJ’s story directions for the ST, then they could have introduced another Jedi to do the rescue; yes, smarter TLJ fans know that story-wise Luke should have a conventional Jedi career before TLJ to make his (pretentiously stupid) breakdown work, and that anything could happen with Grogu to get him away in time… but the very idea of Like successfully training Grogu or other Jedi (even a little bit) flies against the spirit of TLJ.

Grogu ain’t dying unless someone at LFL is still spiteful at the audience for not liking TLJ, and has enough clout to override the promoted Dave Filoni, the industry legend Jon Favreau, or the great business instinct of Kathleen Kennedy. I don’t even think Rian Johnson would do that.

I think w’ e got a greater chance of Luke being revealed to have other Jedi associates and trainees who get an Ahsoka-sequel reprieve from the Order’s fate than we are to see Grogu killed to make Ben Solo more important again.
Like action, adventure, rogues, and outlaws? Like anti-heroes, femme fatales, mysteries and thrillers?

I wrote a book with them. Outlaw’s Shadow: A Sherwood Noir. Robin Hood’s evil counterpart, Guy of Gisbourne, is the main character. Feel free to give it a look: https://read.amazon.com/kp/embed?asi...E2PKBNJFH76GQP

Ren was dull and disappointing from the start, but yeah, Disney isn't killing the Baby Yoda.

Funny thing is the Marvel 2019 Kylo Ren miniseries make's Ben fall almost accidental-somebody else destroys the Temple (Possibly Sith Eternal agents?) after he knocks out Luke; his elimination of the other Padawans is also more of a comedy of errors.

The scene in Rey's vision which seemed like he'd already become leader of the Knights and they were more directly involved wasn't included....

I very much doubt they'll say that Ren killed Grogu. Baby Yoda is way too popular to write him off like that. I'd assume that Grogu either left Luke's training before Ren's betrayal, or Grogu was away from the temple when it all went down, and went into hiding.

But I suppose it also depends on what they plan to do down the line. If they don't plan on revisiting the sequel era again, or going even further into the future, then it doesn't much matter whether Grogu was killed by Ren or not. But if they plan to keep exploring the post-sequel timeframe then Grogu would be a fantastic asset to keep active. Even a story set centuries after Luke's death could still make use of Grogu, either as an audience insert/PoV character or as just a familiar face to tie things into the rest of the mythos.

My current guess is that Grogu trained with Luke for a time and gained control over his abilities, but returned to Din before Kylo Ren came along and began training as a Mandalorian. I only know of one Jedi-trained Mando (the guy who made the darksaber) and that seems a fittingly badass and epic destiny for the Child. I suspect that even if Disney doesn't plan on doing anything in the sequel era again, they'd want to plant this seed in case they change their minds later.

I kind of wonder if, down the line, and the further out we get from the sequels, if Disney isn't going to kind of low key imply that you can just ignore the sequels if you want and suggest they are just one potential future.

I'm definitely in the camp that they'll eventually just leap frog a hundred years or so ahead of the sequels and just use Grogu as the bridge to the past and forget the rest.

I'd rather he be dead so Star Wars can reboot without a Yoda-like being.

My true wish is we are shown a scene where he fights Kylo bravely, does massive damage, and is shown gravely injured and scared ... left for dead.

And Djin gets a Force message from Grogu to come rescue him.

And Grogu later renounces the Force and then leads the Mandos.

He wouldn't be a yoda like being though, because he'd be young.

Maybe he actually forms his own independent order. Yoda was presumably already a master at age 100 according to his dialogue in ESB; Grogu would be in his 60s-70s around the time of Ben's fall and the sequel trilogy.

I'd rather he get the Darksaber, renounce the Force, and lead the Mandos if he's not dead. Using and/or not using his abilities I think gives the Mando's a great new dimension and raises them to a true third faction in SW.

I think the story of him leading, perhaps after Djin gets killed, would be a wonderful new branch to expand the Star Wars mythos.

Yes, but because he's young he isn't the wise and experienced Jedi Master with all the answers...he's free to be brash and make mistakes, he could be a laconic warrior, or a devil may care rogue...he's essentially a blank slate.

Plenty of room in the SW universe for two members of Yoda's race. I'm definitely down with Grogu becoming a Mando, but not with the idea of him renouncing the Force. Nothing wrong with a Force sensitive Mando.

Hell, isn't that Luke's point in his exile? That the Force shouldn't be monopolized by the Jedi? That it wasn't theirs to regulate and control? TLJ was raw crap for Luke but I don't necessarily think he was wrong here.
