Most of the cop comments are just people joking around, it’s not that serious for them. I just don’t want Firestar because I think she’s boring, in both ability and appearance. Writers can keep insisting that her power is unique, call it microwave manipulation or whatever, but at the end of the day she’s just another fire character.

I mean, you can discount all the X-men telepaths with that logic as well. Why bother with another telepath character like Jean, Emma, Betsy etc. when we already have the designated mindpowers guy in Professor X?

There’s no real “logic” to my statement except that I find heroes who fly around and shoot flames especially uninteresting. It’s as simple as that.

Honestly I'm not too interested in what Firestar brings to the table. She's a new perspective, but what will that really add for an X-Men book? Her making comments about how she doesn't like things? Her being annoyed at Emma? I guess maybe her views could lead to some small changes to Krakoa? I'm sure some of you have a bigger imagination than me, especially long-time Firestar fans. If someone can paint a clearer picture on what stories they could do with her differing perspective, I wanna hear it so I can be hyped in her win.

I agree. Firestar’s unique perspective will only be interesting if this book thoroughly changes it’s structure. Right now as an action-focused book her positions on Krakoa might pop up in a one-off line or when they do the inevitable flashback to when she got voted in, but it certainly won’t be driving the plot or leading to some paradigm shift of how the Krakoans think.

That Amazing Friends cartoon has pretty much ALWAYS been in syndication. It was the first Spider-Man anything that I watched and I wasn't even born when it originally aired. It's on Disney+ right now so I'm guessing all the Spidey-hungry tykes have discovered it.

Monet and Everett better appear on X-Men '97 now. It's about time they were featured in an adaptation.

I know twitter isn't real, but my god some of the Penance stans are pretty toxic. The vitriol they are spewing is awful. I can take a joke and banter but some tweets are just plain nasty.

Yeah I wanted to vote her as my second vote but hoped on twitter and saw them and F that.Love the character but some of the fans are downright disgusting and that behavior should never be rewarded.
