Since it's Pride Month, here are some forgotten queer characters who deserve to come back:

    Achilles

The reincarnation of the mythical Achilles and a male counterpart to Wonder Woman from an all-male tribe of Gargareans. Has been in limbo ever since New 52 happened. I don't know why DC cares so little about him. He has an interesting backstory, a cool design, and the best flying vehicle in all of comics. What's not to like?

    Mulano and Duoro

Two queens of two rival kingdoms from the Golden Age Zatara strip who made peace by...marrying each other? Like, there's no heterosexual explanation for this.

    Cheetah (Sebastian Ballesteros)

His union with the plant god Urzkartaga is another example of gay marriage, even if the actual story never explicitly acknowledges it as such. This one doesn't need a comeback, but I love the fact that there was a gay marriage between a furry and a plant, and no one noticed.

    Madam Fatal

A cross-dressing male hero who had his own comic strip in the Golden Age.

    Saber and Cannon

A villainous duo who were revealed to be a couple in the 80's Vigilante book. Haven't been around since COIE.

    Off-Ramp and Frostbite

A bisexual superhero couple from the 90's series Young Heroes in Love.

    Mikaal Tomas

One of the first openly gay heroes and yet he hasn't been around since Flashpoint.

    Shvaughn Erin

Element Lad's love interest. In the Five Years Later story she was revealed to be biologically male, but it's not clear if she's actually meant to be transgender. It hasn't been addressed since.

    Terry Berg

Kyle Rayner's assistant. His coming out story and the subsequent gay bashing were a pretty big deal at the time. Unfortunately, DC doesn't care about Kyle anymore, let alone about his supporting characters

    Invisible Boy and Chemical King

They aren't really forgotten, but their implied relationship sure is.

    Ramsey Robinson

The son of Kate Spencer. He was revealed to be gay in the last two issues of the Manhunter series set 15 years in the future.

    Savant and Creote

A gay couple (well, one gay and one bisexual) from Gail Simone's Birds of Prey, and she's pretty much the only writer who did anything with them.

Default Next week's LGBTQIA+ -related releases (21 June)

    Earth-Prime: Hero’s Twilight #6: https://aiptcomics.com/2022/06/17/dc...os-twilight-6/

Included here because Ryan Wilder/CWverse Batwoman is listed to appear in this issue. (Sara Lance/White Canary might also be in it - just speculation.)

"A threat has been amassing forces from across time and universes. Their plan is to finally free humanity from their dependency on these so-called heroes. All these beings do is bring about pain and destruction everywhere they go, solving no issues and bringing no peace to the world. Instead, this being will bring the hero community to its knees, and finally help society reach its true potential. The Age of Heroes is over."

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Milestones in History #1: https://aiptcomics.com/2022/06/17/dc...-in-history-1/

Also speculation: One of the narrators of Black History might be Fade - anyway, this issue seems to be super cool, interesting and informative even without a queer character.

"Celebrate Black History Month the Milestone way, as the superpowered citizens of Dakota (including Static, Icon, Rocket, Hardware, and more) narrate the true stories of Black trailblazers from across human history! Witness the military campaigns of Hannibal and the Queen of Sheba, the literary accomplishments of Alexandre Dumas, the World War One dogfights of Eugene Bullard against the legendary Red Baron, and many, many more, all written and drawn by a who’s-who of comics and literary talent!"

Fade is on a variant cover:

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Catwoman #44: https://aiptcomics.com/2022/06/17/dc...w-catwoman-44/

    Selina and Harley's trip continues...

"Harley Quinn and Catwoman get their gals’ out-of-town trip at the roller derby crashed when some mysterious creep runs them off the road…and then follows them around at the derby! But this is Catwoman and Harley Quinn—you stalk them, and you’ll pay for it…maybe with a limb or two. Meanwhile, there seems to be more than one lurker in the shadows, because Red Claw is on scene looking for the girls too…but you’ll have to pick up the issue to find out why!"

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Batman: The Knight #6: https://aiptcomics.com/2022/06/17/dc...-the-knight-6/

Bruce's companion is Minhkhoa Khan, who will become the vigilante Ghost-Maker later.

"Bruce Wayne’s difficult journey to become Batman continues as he travels to Northern Canada seeking a mastery of weapons and marksmanship from a legendary hunter. Bruce’s companion, however, will reveal a lethal secret that could jeopardize the entire mission…"

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh, I have a feeling this issue is def gonna be the number one on the CBR DC subthreads becuase of Tim's bisexuality, TimBer, & writer Meghan Fitzmartin.

Dark Crisis: Young Justice #1: https://aiptcomics.com/2022/06/17/dc...ung-justice-1/

"Crises have always had devastating impacts on the generation of heroes that make up Young Justice, and Dark Crisis will hit them even harder. Tim Drake, Impulse, and Superboy go missing during the Justice League’s funeral. The only person concerned enough to find them? Cassie Sandsmark, a.k.a Wonder Girl. But…the three boys of Young Justice aren’t on this Earth anymore…they’re on the world of their dreams, one they may never want to leave!"

Brainiac is bi in my HC, as well as Atomica.

I guess Wondy, Harley, and Ivy are my favourite canon LGBTQIA+ characters. I'm not really into lesbians, even though I am bicurious (I think males are attractive the most.)

Well Brainiac 5 was said to be demisexual in this month’s Pride Special. So that’s canon.

I’m really curious what the world of their dreams will be like.
I’ll be disappointed if Tim’s dream world doesn’t have Conner as his boyfriend.

I'm hoping long time Tim/Kon shippers (like you) get this at least, you deserve it. Period.

Personally, I don't care about this whole shipping thingy (DickBabs, DicKory, BatCat, BatWonder, TimBer, TimSteph, TimKon, JonJay, etc, etc). If someone loves a pairing, it's fine.

However, I don't like people attacking a particular ship or the shippers themselves. I also hate when people act like toxic shippers and just fanatically hate a pairing like a religion.

Love is love and comics are for fun.

My absolute favorite queer couple, thanks Psy-lock for listing them! I miss them and it's pretty sad there're so many DC queer characters underutilized.

Default Next week's LGBTQIA+ -related releases (28 June)

    Batman: Fortress #2: https://aiptcomics.com/2022/06/24/dc...an-fortress-2/

Well, another Batman book. Hehh. Wondy/Diana helps to stop an alien invasion.

"Batman and the Justice League are working desperately to save innocent lives after the arrival of a mysterious alien ship that has destabilized the entire planet. After all attempts to communicate with the unknown invaders fail, they’re left with no alternative but to fight! But can even the combined might of the Justice League and all the world’s militaries repel such an overwhelmingly superior force?"

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Aquamen #5: https://aiptcomics.com/2022/06/24/dc-preview-aquamen-5/

This preview shows Jackson Hyde aka Aquaman and Ha'Wea as a cute couple. Yeah, I deliberately used the word 'cute'.

"Our heroes race to construct a new deactivation spire as the Atlantean sleeper agents continue to awaken worldwide. Can the Aquamen Family hold them off long enough for construction to be completed? Not if the Scavenger has anything to say about it!"

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Harley Quinn #16: https://aiptcomics.com/2022/06/24/dc...rley-quinn-16/

With Riley Rossmo's art, who will be the artist of the next Tim Drake/Robin series.

"You know how the whole villain origin story is usually about the one bad day that changed everything? I think it’s Tuesday most of the time. But what if it’s, like, a lot of bad days, and some of them were even caused by me, Harley Quinn? Well, that would be a recipe for one pretty bad villain, right? The secret origin story of a brutal new villain, Verdict, is revealed here! Though I guess it won’t be very secret once we reveal it, huh?"

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Action Comics #1044: https://aiptcomics.com/2022/06/24/dc...n-comics-1044/

Midnighter helps Clark/Superman to fight Mongul's regime. On Earth, Jon/Superman, Lois and John Henry Irons discover something that might be important in the Warworld Revolution later on.

(Also, where's my Middy and Apollo Pride variant cover????)

"The Warworld Revolution is here! With the Genesis Stone feeding Kal-El a portion of his long-dormant powers, the quest to overthrow Mongul’s tyrannical rule is well under way…but can Superman convince the war-torn combatants of this hellish nightmare planet that kindness can best cruelty? All this, plus Midnighter stabs some fools who had it coming! Then, in “A World Without Clark Kent,” Lois, Jon, and John Henry Irons (a.k.a. Steel) convene to unlock the secrets of the mysterious Genesis tech…and Thao-La awakens…"

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Batman / Catwoman #12: https://aiptcomics.com/2022/06/24/dc...n-catwoman-12/

Tom King's highly anticipated BatCatBatBatCat wedding! Also, this timeline's Helena Wayne (like her mommy Selina) is queer.

"Wedding bells are finally ringing for Batman and Catwoman! As our story concludes, the lovers prepare to take the next steps in their lives together by trading everlasting vows. The Bat/Cat wedding is here, and knowing Bruce and Selina, it’ll be anything but conventional. You won’t want to miss this final chapter of Tom King’s Batman epic!"

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DC vs. Vampires: Killers #1: https://aiptcomics.com/2022/06/24/dc...res-killers-1/

Harley is the queen of Gotham's human underworld in the vampire apocalypse, and Selina is her henchwoman (or something like that).

"In the shadow of the new Vampire World Order, Harley Quinn rules the human underworld in this age of darkness. She has survived by only looking out for herself…but she might have just found the key to saving the world."

While I’m hoping for it, I really don’t expect it.
It would be great to at least acknowledge Tim’s romantic feelings for Conner, but I don’t trust DC will let it happen.
Being gay and shipping same sex couples you can get a lot of hate in fandom.

I’d really like to see Achilles return to the pages of Wonder Woman and be a supporting character from time to time. And I hope Atlantiades isn’t forgotten either.

Similarly, I’d have Alpha Centurion return as a sometimes supporting character in the Superman titles.

I don’t have a problem with having a villain being gay and I always liked the idea of Triumph - it’d be interesting to retell his story through a modern lens. There’s not a lot of hero turned villain stories out there, so that could be interesting.

I’d kill for Simone to return to Catman and have an ongoing series that explores his romances and identity within the DCU.

Last, but certainly not least, an Extrańo ongoing series would really appeal to me explore gender fluidity, sexual identity, Latinx, etc. as identities that are minoritized (at least when told through the lens of the U.S.)

Yeah, I noticed that shipping same sex couples (especially male ones) just irks some people on the DC CBR threads...

Great ideas, I like especially the Catman one .

I think I've already mentioned on the 2021 thread, but I'd have Malcolm Hutch return in the current Nightwing ongoing. He could be a great supporting character - not a Bat character, but a Nightwing one.

Edit: I falsely assumed that Hutch is queer, it wasn't confirmed and specified explicitly on-panel(it wasn't mentioned he's straight either).
