It’s already been dealt with, so I expect them to completely ignore it. It was an Avengers era story and not central to her character. Plus her powers are artistically depicted as flame these days, not microwave. It’s a softy retcon.

Firestar's powers are incorrectly portrayed as standard flames instead of microwave energy by many artists. Her powers haven't been changed.

It wasn't Avengers exclusive, as it started in New Warriors and was addressed in Avengers, then followed up in Divas.

Never. Artists just stopped differentiating her powers from basic fire based (see also Amara Aquilla/Magma).

Also, the new costume just feels like the artist (Pepe Larraz) wasn't ready to let go of Sunfire's post-Gala I X-Men team look and applied the same visuals to Angelica...

Since she had horrible costumes since creation, I'm cool with this look.

So I was going to make an argument that the reason they changed her powers to flame was because her power signature resemble Havok. After checking her showing, I noticed most of her appearances have her shooting flames, not microwave.

That happened after Mark Bagley moved off of the New Warriors. Bagley knew Angelicas powers and drew them as microwaves. The next artist, Darrick Robertson gave her a flame like looking energy signature. And from then and after it turned into full flames.

*- assuming that the sound effect came from Nicieza since it seems to have been a New Warriors era phenomenon and IIRC, the writer came up with the sound effects to be lettered in the Comics:The Marvel Way! Era.
