Basically, Jean was stuck in that antiqued dress for nearly 3 years...because fans were asking why she's been stuck in that antiqued dress without an in story reason?

I really wish writers or Marvel in general spent as much time investing in meaningful stories as they do trolling fans, what did any of this accomplish?

Yea seriously. I mean just look at PAD and Ben Reilly’s costume. When the new costume didn’t go over well with fans, he didn’t troll the fans, he did right by the fans and put Ben back in his old costume .

Whatever Dauterman is going to design will be solid of course but I kinda hoped they return to the NXM costume. That era still feels unfinished for Jean so her wearing it again would bring about a nice sense of continuation. Also it feels fitting for the Krakoa era (climate notwithstanding).

Agreed 1000% @confuzzled . When they said characters would be changing outfits often in this era, I was beyond excited for it. But I can honestly only remember Emma doing it often enough( which is totally in character for her anyway) and...I wanna say Storm did it, also, at some point? Did she wear the 90s white outfit again, or was that only on a cover?

But Jean should've 100% worn the NXM costume at some point. Psychic Rescue 2 would've been a good opportunity for it, she and Emma should've rocked their NXM costumes

While that is my favourite version of Jean ever, I’d hardly call that era unfinished.
I do think this look should return for more casual scenes.

I just dont understand the pettiness from a company, you can not make every fan happy. But if you're going to put an adult in a costume nearly 60 years old! Fans asking for an in-story reason or updated costume isn't asking a lot, imo!

RD is definitely going to do right by her, I will say I'm still giving yet another dress costume the side eye. I don't understand this push for dresses for prominent X-men but I'll wait and see.

Now that Hickman is gone, I'm going to admit it, it bothered me to no end that he would expressly give Cyclops a new costume and Emma was allowed a new costume every other issue. Yet Jean was forced into a 60 year old dress and mask, at the very least she could have updated the costume but nope, nor have we had a satisfying reason as to why?

I’m one of the twelve people who like the green dress, but I’m ok with other options. I just hated the X-Men Red outfit. It looked too bulky. I’d rather have the Jim Lee costume as an alternative. I always loved that, especially when Whilce Portacio drew it. Hopefully it’s something akin to the gala costume. Most people seemed to like that.
