    So, does anybody own the right to "Captain Miracle"?

    "Captain Miracle", "Mary Miracle", "Captain Miracle Jr.", "Uncle Miracle", the three "Lieutenant Miracle", "Hoppy the Miracle Bunny", etc.

    I'd read it. My take on these characters can be described as "too classic" to be charitable and I'd read "I'm deadass teaming up with Billy Batso." lol

    So Billy had three books back then? Whiz Comics and two with his name in the title? Considering that Mary and Freddy both also got their own books later, that means the line was quite prolific - a new book nearly every week - before DC sued them into oblivion.

    Wait . . . what were the "two with his name in the title"?

    The ones I'm aware of where he appeared regularly were:
    * Whiz Comics
    * Captain Marvel Adventures
    * Marvel Family (Comics), which started in 1945

    Not that I am aware of back in the Fawcett Comics days. Can you find a cover somewhere?

    It honestly deserves DC right that they can't call the character Captain Marvel.

    They never should have been successful in forcing Fawcett to stop using the character. Aside from a few powers, there is really little similarity between Captain Marvel and Superman. We know Mary Marvel predates Supergirl by a decade or more. Captain Marvel Jr. debuted in 1941 -- 4 years before Superboy. Who was actually copying from whom DC?!!

    But at the end of the day, neither Shazam nor Captain Marvel are great names -- both seem dates. Captain Thunder is okay, but still seems date. Mary Marvel is also dated, but better than Mary Shazam or Sergeant Marvel. As much as DC and Marvel probably don't like this solution -- just call of of them Captains Marvel, but refer to them as a group or property as Shazam or Shazam Family.

    I like Captain Shazam but it doesn't really tell you anything about the character. What's a Shazam? That's the problem with just calling him Shazam, names are meant to be descriptor.

    There's also the issue of Shazam also being the name of a music app!
