For what DC has done to Jon Kent Superboy the last few years, starting with the age-up. Which, aside from that, his biggest characterization? He's bisexual now. I mean, that's easily something that could have been done with kid Jon. But nope, let's age him up to the same age range and Kara and Conner. And in a highly convoluted fashion at that.

Robin (Damian's series) is basically shonen manga right now, so to call it "dull, dark, and dreary" seems a bit (a lot) excessive. Gotham Future State... Okay, yeah. It has its fair share of dark elements (including a "new" and cannibalistic Joker), but its really more of a Jason Todd series. Robins, has some dark moments, but not as much as others.

Can't really speak for the rest, as I don't follow them.

as a Duke Thomas fan and a fan of a lot of newer characters: stop trying to trick fans into wanting to reading more and let us just read more.

I'm so tired if incomplete characters and drawn out character building arcs where we have to wait until they reach some magical number before the character "earns" the space to exist. Duke Thomas has been around since 2013 and while his character has grown and done stuff, he still hasn't completed his origin. for a long time it felt like DC doesn't want to encourage conclusions, so every writer is writing for the next story and not to finish their story; and that hurts newer characters far more because they never feel complete. we need more mini/limited series with a set end for more characters. Mister Miracle: Source of Freedom was a perfect example of giving character a clear story arc that developed and showcased the character then ended with the arc actually concluding. we need more of that for all the characters. We need that for Katana, we need it for Vixen, we need it for Black Lightning, we need it for Martian Manhunter, for Cyborg, for Duke Thomas, for just about everyone that isn't the Trinity or the secondary Trinity (Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman).
