    Default Don't call me Val

Does anyone know whatever happened to Valerie Cooper? One of the X-men's oldest human allies seems to have been strangely absent during the Krakoan Era

Last time i saw her i think she was betraying mutants. i think it was in one of those xmen legends issues.

Are those even canon or are they just fancy what ifs like X-Men/X-Factor Forever?

So far they have been touted as canon and have been written as such. Like the x-factor one filled in some gaps from the storyline that let us know apoc plan was bigger than it was. One of them also revealed that Adam X is the 4th summers brothers and in interviews i read and other stuff that is now canon too. The sinister one in the latest issue if it did successfully get to sinister explains chimeras so so far they do fill in certain gaps that do fit into the krakoa era.

There's your answer. It would break the narrative to acknowledge these exist.

Plus, is Cooper even a human ally? Last time she was assigning Sentinels to guard them and calling them ungrateful when they complained.

Yeah, that's the last place I remember seeing her. And at the time I wasn't sure if she was Mystique.

Nah, human allies are working at Greenspace and other Krakoan labs. Dolores Ramirez has been a big help to the mutants and she attended the gala along with other human allies.

I definitely would like to see Val make an appearance though.

The narrative literally acknowledge they exist.

I believe the last place she turned up was in last year's USAGENT miniseries, in her role as his government handler and ex-lover (the latter of which was a bit of a surprise). That had no connection to any mutants or other X-characters though.

Because it would go against the narrative

The F4 were allies to mutantkind and as soon as Krakoa came around they pit them against one another as well

Mutants were being openly hunted, captured, and killed the last time we saw her. She wasn't exactly warm or sympathetic.

She ended up helping them after Scott said they would owe her a favor. Since she's no longer working in "mutant affairs", I'm guessing she couldn't care less about Krakoa.

TBF people like Emma aren't warm or sympathetic about a lot of stuff on the outside even though they do care about it
