Druig's powers take a moment to work, and I don't see why Thor or Carol wouldn't just incinerate him before he gets that chance. He's got good durability, but not a scratch on "tanks Stormbreaker, or the biggest lightning bolt in the history of lightning, or Carol smashing him at relativistic speeds" level durability.

Oh, plus Cap with Mjolnir technically has the powers of Thor. So... he might be immune to Druig as well?

This seems like a great place for AoE shenanigans from Thor, Cap and Carol. Makkari is going to do a LOT of damage, but the lack of fliers on Team Eternals probably costs them here.

At this point, I'm just going to copy and paste what I said the last time this came up:

Also, as I think I've gone through in another thread but couldn't find, the lightning bolt does very little damage to the castle itself. It blows up the balcony Thor and Hela were on but, other than that, the tower they were in is still standing, in all the subsequent wide shots of Asgard, it's all still there. I do wish people would stop trying to claim that this feat was somehow super high end, it just isn't.

I was just calling it what he called it.

Also, real lightning strikes hit grounded structures all the time and do effectively zero damage. The fact that it destroys some stuff is a feat in and of itself. Plus... the second one of those that he casually calls with a wave of his hand in the same film knocks a 10m section out of the Bifrost in addition to knocking Hela out of the action for... well, the longest she's knocked out of action up until that time.

All of that still ignores that Vision, once WandaVision feats are included, has pretty massive superspeed and can obliterate all non-Makkari Eternals quite trivially. And she can't even hit him, what with all of the phasing, much less damage him, with him being made of Vibranium.

    You misunderstand my point.

That feat, by yourself and others, gets held up as some grand high watermark of MCU Thor's destructive power when the actual damage it does is really quite minimal, it blows up a bit of a small balcony and that is it.

Mentioning it, as you do, in the same sentence as Stormbreaker and Carol's ramming is to imply that it is in the same ballpark as those offensive actions which it self-evidently is not.

I mean to be fair, it was clearly one **** of a lot of electricity in that it was arcing between like all the buildings we could see in that wide shot, and it at least threw/briefly stunned Hela, which is more than Mjolnir did. It's not Stormbreaker or that other stuff, but it's at least pretty powerful.

Given the match up the OP offers, I think the Avengers take it with hard losses on their side. They've got numbers and plenty of raw power. It doesn't help that several of the Eternals don't really seem to be combat specialists, while every Avenger is a fighter.

But it's hard to nail down the MCU Eternal baseline too; Druig took a really heavy hit that literally buried him in rock, and he walked away without a scratch. Is that the baseline durability for all of them (I'm guessing no, since everyone thought he died)? Thena kicked Ikaris through a small boulder like it weren't no thing, is that the baseline Eternal strength?

I think the real problematic Eternals are Makkari and Druig; the Avengers have people who can hold their own against the likes of Ikaris, Thena, and Gilgamesh, but earth's mightiest heroes don't have an easy, obvious answer for Makkari's speed and she could cull their weakest members before most of them realize the fight has started. And if Wanda or Strange can't counter Druig's mind control the fight is essentially over; even if he can't control the likes of Thor or Vision, he'll still take down almost all of them on his own.

My guess is that the Eternals get some big wins early; Phastos takes down Tony and maybe Vision, Makkari drops Widow and Clint while protecting her own people from the initial attacks. Thena would likely drop some unsuspecting Avenger who thinks they can fight. Druig, if nothing else, keeps Wanda occupied and Sprite's illusions are probably strong enough to at least momentarily distract Strange. Any Eternal who gets put down fast is put back into the fight via Ajak's healing. But once the Avengers get their feet under them and realize what they're up against, Ajak goes down under a dog pile of Avengers. Then it's a battle of attrition the Eternals have little hope of winning, outside of another ass-pull maneuver from Sersi.

I removed druigs mindcontrol specifically to make this a fight , but if it IS a fight even with his mc then sure, debate with him having it on hehe.

Im not sure it was stated anywhere that it only works on pure humans though? Maybe only Vision would not be effected. But Vision could still be the mvp by going intangible and just taking out druig, having the rest of his teammates turn back to normal before druig can get mc dr strange to do a timestop or something.

Druig was terrible in using mindcontrolled people to fight for him.

Logically, it shouldn't actually, since the Eternals were made by the Celestials to operate on various planets across the universe, and hence should work on aliens on other planets just fine. Vision has the best case for resisting it, since he isn't technically alive, just like the Eternals are.

Per Rumbles rules, however, he's only shown it working on humans, so it can't be applied to non-humans for now.

Druig was terrible in using mindcontrolled people to fight for him.
I found him alright, actually. Its not like the humans could have done any better against the Deviants anyway.

To be fair as well, Thena and Gilgamesh did mention Gil wanting Druig to put Thena asleep so he could go on vacation at one point.
That does indicate they at least thought he could do it.

True, but for someone who really cares about humans he didnt bother trying to make em move away from the deviant attacks, he just made them all stand and shoot/reload in unison.
