    Default Earth(Ours!) VS Vulkan(40K) ...TWISTED!

Somewhere in Africa, a hole appears in spacetime and a man steps forth. But he is not just a man. This bastard's more than 12 foot tall and built heavier than the biggest tank, but he moves faster than anything in, on or around the continent. And on top of that physical prowess, he's smart. Incredibly so. And with that brawn and those brains, comes a heart to match.

It's bloody Vulkan, Primarch of the Salamanders. And inside of a year, he unites all of Africa as a single Nation under his protection: a new Superpower is born, ready to take on the world. OUR world!

Can we deal with a superpower led by a Primarch?

Well, as one of the nicest Primarch's around, Vulcan's not out to eliminate the planet. At best, he's seen as a very effective and charismatic political-military leader who will lead the continent (and very soon the world) into a new golden age. Unless the existing world powers act completely irrationally by feeling threatened by a rising new technological and military superpower (admittedly not an unlikely prospect), its all good all around.

    Probably not.

The majority of the Primarchs conquered the worlds they grew up on. Vulcan is no less a genius strategist, suffering only by comparison to his brothers. His Perpetual status also means he is effectively unkillablle even with nukes.

He conquers Earth within a decade at most, then leads us into the stars. Earth becomes a militaristic oligarchic fascist dictatorship, but divisions between humans in terms of race and gender disappear eventually. The tech level also increases enough that even the poorest get dragged out of poverty, tho the richest become even more fantastically rich as we exploit the solar system.

It's nice, so long as you are willing to toe the line and support the war effort. Trading freedom for security and all that.
