Capes are absolutely pointless.
And Superman DOESN'T need one! I thought he rocked the black recovery suit & silver shield look. (I know, heresy)

Any costume that leaves parts of the body bare. These characters can be required to go unexpectedly to all sorts of environments, from sewers to the Arctic. There is no logical reason why they should have costumes that don't cover all of their bodies. (Obviously, the reason why these costumes exist is that female characters need to be sexualized, since most of the costumes I am thinking of are those that female characters wear.) I especially dislike fishnets, boob windows and other designs that needlessly sexualize these characters.

And yet, Superman doesn't need to wear a speedo when he uses sunlight to recharge.

Because at heart Clark is a farm boy from rural Kansas. you are not going to find many guys raised up there running around in a speedo period.
