ASM #338: Returning home, Peter avoids being hit by a chunk of concrete from the roof! Peter tells Mary Jane about the incident at home and MJ suspects Ceasar. Later, MJ departs to rehearsals early, but first makes a quick stop: a local gun shop where she purchases a .38 special!

Funny enough, Mary Jane buying a gun for her self-defense would come in handy a little more than a decade later, as she actually managed to wound Norman Osborn near the end of Mark Millar's Spider-Man saga in Marvel Knights Spider-Man #1-12.

True, it's appeared once or twice before then as well but not to such effect!

ASM #339: MJ discusses with Peter that Hal is out of the hospital and wants to meet on set. She heads out with Peter and runs some errands. But when MJ arrives to the studio, she finds Ceasar had killed Hal and brought MJ there to take her away again! However, officer Goldman shows, and shockingly shoots and kills Ceasar!

*Finally, the end of Jonathan Ceasar!

Goldman reveals he's an obsessed fan who would do anything to protect MJ! He killed and hurt everyone who did anything unkind to MJ - her director, the woman at the deli, Ceasar, and even tried to kill Peter, her "abusive" husband! But when MJ rejects him, he turns the gun on her! MJ thinks fast!

Mary Jane coerces Goldman closer promising secrets from Secret Hospital! Then she takes him down quickly and fiercely with all her strength!

Later that evening Peter returns home after dealing with the Sinister Six. He and MJ both say, "You won't believe the day I had" and smile!

*A nice end to this saga in the Spider-Marriage! Feels good knowing MJ can finally move on and be done with Ceasar!

    Indeed, a very feel-good ending.

I'm surprised Goldman never came back, seeing as he didn't exactly die. Would have made for an interesting nemesis for MJ.

    Huh... good point!

Spider-Man #1: Peter brags to MJ how he's taken on the toughest villains, what makes average thugs think they stand a chance?

MJ jokes Peter seems a bit full of himself... but that's because he's never been attacked by her! Later, Peter suits up and plans to be home by dinner... and asks MJ to save the paper for him!

Spider-Man #2: The next morning MJ tries to get Peter to go shopping, but Peter is distracted by the paper. MJ's tickles and piggy-back rides don't do the trick either when Peter senses the Lizard is behind the latest deaths in the news. Peter suits up and swings off to find him!

Mary Jane is not one to mope at home, so why waste a night when her husband is out playing Spider-Man? Confident Peter will win as always, she dances the night away at the club! But at the bar when her glass falls and shatters, it mirrors the onset of a bad omen over Peter at that very moment!

Todd McFarlane's Spider-Man was interesting, given how deep it went into horror with the web-slinger, even though the scenes of Peter and Mary Jane together did lighten it up a bit here and there.

Jeez! Mary Jane certainly has enough material to have her own super-villain gallery between all the sickos obssessed with her.
