These are the images I most associate with these characters from my childhood.
Assassinate Putin!
Definitely remember reading this during my childhood...
See this at Twitter, gotta say love to share it here.
Classic Justice League by Paul Martin Smith
The Legion of Doom
Jon-EL beat me to it with the 1976 SUPER DC CALENDAR image by Adams & Giordano.
Also, at the top of most issues of THE AMAZING WORLD OF DC COMICS, there was the banner with the heads of the iconic characters at that time--which was subject to change. I always looked to that banner to see who were the "in" characters.
And speaking of that pro-zine, the Marshall Rogers wrap-around cover for issue 16 was my favourite image of the 1940s super-heroes.
Love this image but I'm confused as to when it was done. A lot of pre-Crisis but also some post-Crisis characters.
The entire JLA Satellite team is there but no JLA Detroit newbies are there.
Also, Batman and his Outsiders are present, which formed right before JLA Detroit came together.
Teen Titans has the Wolfman/Perez team without Jericho. Hawk, Dove, Golden Eagle, Bumblebee, and Flamebird are there but no Lilith or Mal.
Legion of Super Heroes goes up through Dawnstar, but no Blok, Invisible Kid II or White Witch (or Matter-Eater Lad).
Infinity Inc is well represented but this has several post-Crisis members like the female Wildcat.
Love seeing JSA - especially Huntress and Robin!!!!
But what a poster!!! I've stared at it for hours now.

Look, I was a mid-'90s comic reader. So, the DC Universe looked kind of like this, minus the armor.
