Could Somnus be the anti telepath?

I love the idea of Somnus being able to extend his powers to act as like a blanket/shield from telepathic intrusion.

Like, if he's able to affect someone's mind exclusively when unconscious (currently-- and I presume he can also sedate people / put them to sleep? I guess we'll see), maybe he's able to extend this influence of the "unconscious mind" and build barriers around it.

I'm wondering how a character like Somnus with his specific powers can be interesting going on field missions. Maybe they will figure something out. I also think it is highly necessary to have an anti-dote against those million and million of X-Men telepaths everywhere.

In that case a good writer is needed to better define and shape his power in a different direction because if one of the lame writers gets a hold of him you can bet he is going to be used like a lame tp user. My suggestion is to give his mutant powers a quasi-mystical nature (would fit with his look) and to really delve into the rich mythology surrounding the concept of dreams, human classic folklore is full of interesting stuff & ideas ready for the picking.
