For chrissakes, the guy who would get on Cable's face and was the rebel on X-Force is all of a sudden portrayed as a smitten schoolgirl at a K-Pop band concert? WTH man...

The Rictor thing is all the more annoying because he SHOULD be one of the ones with the BIGGEST issues with Apocalypse since Rictor's entire early history is directly tied into Apocalypse's first stories. Like Rictor was right there grieving when Warren was believed dead and who saw the impact Apocalypse had on him when he returned, because Warren was one of the handful of older mutants who had rescued Julio from the Right and were practically raising him after that. Not to mention how much Caliban used to mean to the X-Terminator kids, before.....Apocalypse got his hooks in him. Like, before Cable was ever Cable, he was baby Christopher, the cute little kid Julio, Rusty and Skids used to BABYSIT for Scott and Jean.

Like, its not just that Rictor's always bucked against authority, its that I feel like ironically Howard never noticed that she happened to pick one of the characters who should MOST hate Apocalypse just for what he's done to so many of the people Julio values most....and then just.....wrote their interactions like Julio had no prior feelings about Apocalypse whatsoever and only knew this guy by reputation.

winners -- Polaris, Magneto, Brand, Northstar, Emma, Synch, Nightcrawler, Legion, Sage, Forge, Magik, Kwannon, most of the Hellions, and probably others -- these are the characters I think given the most development, offhand, in the books I've read

losers -- Colossus and Havok stick out the most -- the former for being dragged through the dirt without a lot of interior development, and the latter for getting his brain re-broken and then turned into some kind of dog for Madelyne Pryor. I think the comic book writers overuse mind control, and then under write the effects of said mind control. How many times has this happened to Havok? You know, you follow a character for years and you see their development and you get frustrated when things just revolve back to some parallel version of past events. Havok has been mind-controlled over and over again, and to what end? To serve as a plot device, and an occasional foil. Ah well.....

Easy answer is probably every dead mutant. Probably every villain too besides Sabretooth.
Storm is queen of a planet.
Sunfire got put on the A-Team.

    Who benefited the least?

Xavier and Moira's reputations took a big hit.
Rictor is insufferable. Most of the Excalibur roster went down hill too.
Nature Girl is an obvious one.

Rictor was not only ok with Apocalypse basically butchering a group of mutants, but actively participated in said butchering because Apocalypse said so. He is not only simping for an authoritarian dictator but participating in his actions.

Rictor's family got murdered by Stryfe, who was created because of Apocalypse's manipulations. He should have major issues with him, but that is the thing with current X-writers. I don't think they actually have read most of the stories with the characters they write. They simply pick names out of a hat and then assign whatever personality fits the story they want to tell. For Rictor was Apocalypse's devotee even though he should be the last character to act that way around him.

Yeah, this particular relationship is a weird one, does Rictor know? If so your point is very important, but... maybe he doesn't?

Not even sure that's true about Wolverine - he's been replaced with an arrogant, Dunning-Kruger Wolverine whose self-importance is matched only by his failures as a leader.

Well Logan does get to sleep with Jean so he's a winner in that respect I think...

As for losers, Havok and Colossus have been treated pretty badly...

How did Xavier's rep take a hit? This is no worse than he's ever been in the past. If anything he is better in the current era than we last saw him in Astonishing X-men that preceeded this

Magik is a big winner. Big promotion, lots of swinging her sword/power around. Even her 'loss' in X of Swords is still a big W for her reputation.

Doug is also a big winner as well. Created the baseline Krakoan language, has importance as being the only one who can really communicate with Krakoa. Parties with his best friend all the time, and is also is happily married.

The losers are anyone related to X-Force. Just major L's after major L's.
