Double-checked (at least for you and foxley). Congratulations WestPhillyPunisher! I assume you don't need a PM? :-)
«Speaking generally, it is because of the desire of the tragic poets for the marvellous that so varied and inconsistent an account of Medea has been given out» (Diodorus Siculus, The Library of History [4.56.1])
Congrats WPP! And thanks to you, Nschornhost and CaptCleghorn for the votes.
Missed it by that much!

Thanks! The new contest is now up!

And thank you Scott and Englehart for the voting the better Zeck cover.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!
Congrats to Wets Philly Punisher!
Congratulations to WestPhillyPunisher for a marvelous cover. Mike Zeck did a bang-up job putting in both motion and action into a cover which has gained notoriety and a somewhat iconic status over the years.
As to what the captain has learned in this "Peak of the Week", these are comic books. Well, I already knew that, please bear with me here. Where video is an ongoing stream of single pictures each a little different, giving the illusion of motion, the comic book usually shows a scene with far less frequency. Thus the artist is often tasked with setting up figures and objects to convince you to believe they are in motion. Characters are in many times supposedly awkward poses in the middle of a kick, or a spin, or just running. Sometimes falling. It's the sign of a good artist when that illusion or belief is conveyed to the reader. How do they do it? I really have no idea, which is why I write and don't draw. Although I have been known to play a badass game of Pictionary. Speed lines rule, baby!!
And deepest gratitude to ChadH and Iron Maiden for their generous votes.
I’ll don the mask and wear the cape
If I am super, how can I wait?
