I don't think Cassie was ahead of her time so much as DC started marching backwards to the Silver Age during the 00's while the rest of the world kept progressing and now they're in a rush to catch up.

I don't think the Silver Age hurt Cassie so much as just mis-management of the WW brand and the New 52 reboot.

Funny you should compare Cassie to Kamala... did you read Heroes Reborn: Young Squadron last year? In a world where the Avengers don't exist, many of the other heroes had their origins changed or didn't have their powers. Hence the core three Champions became proteges of Squadron Supreme (JLA knockoff) members. Sam Alexander, Nova, became Kid Spectrum, the sidekick to Doctor Spectrum, a Green Lantern analogue - and thus a counterpart of Teen Lantern. Miles Morales, usually Spider-Man, became Falcon, wannabe sidekick to Nighthawk, the Batman analogue - thus, he's Robin. Sam Wilson, the canonical Falcon, was shown to be dead (which happened in another tie-in), thus he was Jason Todd's counterpart and Miles was Tim Drake's. Kamala, instead of becoming Ms. Marvel, finds some trinkets connected to Power Princess, Wonder Woman's counterpart. Basically Cassie's original origin. She became Girl Power, the counterpart to Wonder Girl. THAT'S how similar Cassie and Kamala are. The reality alteration didn't change Kamala's personality at all, yet she became a perfect echo of Cassie.

This was posted in Wally West's appreciation thread. Screencap from the Super Sons animated movie.

As you can see, Cassie's in it, in her current comics look.

I was wondering if the Rebirth suit would ever make the jump...didn't expect it so soon though!
