Really? Ruling out the possibility that the director and actor can possibly come up with anything else that would interest you in seeing the movie? Fair enough, but I'm open to see what they have in store, and after the last one they have my attention and my interest.

From the looks of that article?

We are talking about a mighty big "If..."

Eh, it's CBR, which isn't a sure thing true, but less click baity and liar-y then some sites, so not completely dismissive either. We'll see come a year I guess. I hope it happens. Might be the only one this site who wants it to happen, but eh I do.

Well, I won't be in that audience. One was enough for me, and barely managed to suffer through that. I'll pass on a sequel.

So will Arthur be running a casino for the mob in this one?
Tolstoy will live forever. Some people do. But that's not enough. It's not the length of a life that matters, just the depth of it. The chances we take. The paths we choose. How we go on when our hearts break. Hearts always break and so we bend with our hearts. And we sway. But in the end what matters is that we loved... and lived.

hmmmmm. I am kind of mixed about a sequel. I feel the first film works really well as a one off and it been a one off only adds to the more classic and unique status it will get in the comic book genre.

I may rather not have risked a sequel on those reasons, it is kind of the same way I feel about Cape Fear (1962) that never got a sequel.

However I guess we will have to wait to see, but the bar is just too high and there is a good chance this Joker sequel may not cross the bar.

IDK if this means anything but IMDB already has it on their page:

I wasn't interested in the first one, so unless Batman is in it and there's a strong counterpoint to the Joker I'm not sure what else they could do.

Throw in a version of Harley? Or maybe lower-scale versions of other Bat-Villains.

I really disliked the first movie, and struggle to see where they could take it from here. It seemed like a fairly complete story, with a character who seems of fairly low intelligence and strength. Can’t see a believable way of him getting out of prison/asylum. Unless they go the route of the ending of the first movie being a fake out, which would be lame.

Until more info is released it feels like unneeded sequels to old slasher movies that were commissioned due to low budget/high profits.

Ok cool. Someone pitch Joker in Arkham and I'd be down for that.

Shoot I can't remember the source but I thought they did an interview with one of the writers and the presumption was that Batman doesn't exist in this universe. (Who knows that could also change) But it's hard to see how this Joker gets from being here to being a supervillain.

They should do Midnight Run this time, and Joker forms an unlikely odd couple dynamic with Batman as they travel cross country back to Arkham Asylum.

Fair enough - I'm one of those who loved it, and after what felt like a really shitty year in movies with 2021 any sequel news to a movie I actually liked is welcomed by me.

Eh, fair enough, different strokes for different folks. I think I'm the only one in all of CBR excited for this, but I'm getting used to being the odd duck out. People keep loving the movies I couldn't stand and disliking the movies I loved, so it's just kind of a thing now I guess. I'm hoping that they make it despite the naysayers, cause I don't really see what such a film can hurt. Joker was one of the last movies along with Into the Spider-Verse where I was enjoying what Hollywood was cranking out. Just need something like that again.

Wonder if this one will generate the controversy like the last one did?
Doctor Strange: "You are the right person to replace Logan."
X-23: "I know there are people who disapprove... Guys on the Internet mainly."
