Aleta was a fairly powerful character with unique abilities, cool costume and also added another flyer to the team.

Well, that's been largely true since Disassembled for me.

As good as John Buscema was on Avengers (and he was excellent), it is the Perez runs on Avengers that I love the most. Of course, Buscema era was before my time - and his return in the 80s was good, but not up to his previous work.

Back to the GOTG. I was first introduced to Aleta in Avengers. I liked the Perez redesign. Previously, Aleta looked like she was wearing one of Starhawk's t-shirts and little else! In the Valentino run, I liked that he made Aleta more a full-time character, but I missed seeing her dress similarly to Starhawk. Starhawk was my favorite of the team as well -- because he had a cool look (the solar wings). When GOTG was revived in the 90s, they downplayed the cosmic aspect.

I've loved the original team since Steve Gerber reintroduced them in Defenders back in the day, and their series in Marvel Presents was awesome. I'd love to see them show up again.

^^^Yeah, much as I love the current(ish) line up and the MCU movies, the OG team was great, and I wish someone’d bring them back somehow.

It's wild that we're coming up on a year since the last issue of Ewing's Guardians with no news on a new book. The days of MCU synergy, everyone in a movie gets an ongoing have passed. We get minis/one-shots still like the America mini, Hawkeye: Kate Bishop mini, and Ms. Marvel team up one shots, but yeah. I assume we'll get something by volume three but I wonder if we'll get anything sooner. Ewing's run was so good I want it back.
