You know I was guessing, right? The roster's not confirmed.

I was worried when I saw this announcement - it looks like all the work Cates and Ewing did is about to be flushed, and the MCU!Guardians are coming back to comics.
I feel like if they wanted Ewing to continue his run, they would have just continued it after The Last Annihilation in 2021.
Why would they wait two years just to pick up on the same story with the same creative team?
I'm afraid Ewing is done, no matter how much I loved that run.
I wouldn't be too worried, I believe Aaron said he isn't doing any ongoings after his Avengers run ends, just maxiseries like Punisher.
I don't think Hickman will be writing this one either.
Aaron and Hickman are both transitioning out of the company, they've become too expensive to get for monthlies.
Honestly, if this is MCU synergy as I suspect, they'll get an up-and-coming writer to do the relaunch.
I agree with you that the new line-up will look something like this, with the addition of Cosmo. I also expect a new, young version of Adam Warlock to show up, either as hero or villain.
The Guardians line-up at the end of the Ewing run was Star-Lord, Gamora, Nova, Moondragon, Captain Marvel (Vell), Hercules, Marvel Boy, Rocket Racoon, Groot, Drax the Destroyer, Mantis, Quasar (Vaughn), Quasar (Kincaid) and Super-Skrull. Wiccan and Hulkling were supporting members.
Highly doubtful half of these people will remain during the relaunch.
The fact that Ewing took Nova with him over to XMR was the first sign that editorial was going to thrash this team.

Having recently reread my trades of the DnA run, yeah I prefer more here the commando coworker relation with the original team
The movies are fine on their own, but even so its annoying that they keep trying to force the "found family" dynamic everywhere
I especially like how in the DnA book everyone is sort of part of a pair or group within the team. Gamora and Adam a duo, and Drax largely interacted with his daughter or daughter in law. Which makes sense, these are characters each dealing with their own ****, they aren't roommates in an RV.
Feels like Hickman’s secret project
