If this means the villain of the movie won't be a Spider-Woman, that's good, unless the guy's playing an evil Spider-Man, then it's basically the same damn problem of having the hero and villain share this kind of ****, something that was just done with Morlun, and Venom 2 had him dealing with Carnage too...

I think they are just rumors so far. Officially, it's only been reported that she's directing a Sony Marvel movie and on Twitter, she retweeted the story with a spider emoji.

That could be bait, like, maybe it's a movie about Morluns squashing Spider-People lol.

Though yeah, if it's not bait, likely a Jessica movie, or maybe they'll throw a curveball and make a movie about, I dunno, Mattie, or Black Tarantula, or Ai Apaec, or Spider-Kid .

Most likely Spider-Verse, it'd be more fitting there.

On the other hand, they made Fisk of all people the main villain of the first movie.

It'd be funny if Madame Web doesn't use the multiverse and has Morlun as a villain, while Spider-Verse obviously uses multiverse, but picks some smaller villain to be made to be that much of a threat too.

At least, this way it could be kinda fitting for how Morlun was under JMS, since there was no multiverse nonsense with him back then.

If Spider-Verse uses Morluns, I can at least see Dad-Morlun showing up if they use other family members.

Hm... There was a previous article with a supposed leak saying that Madame Web will be more or less made into that universe's Doctor Strange, and since Morbius uses a scene from Spidey Home 3 to have Vulture suddenly (and nonsensically) kicked into that universe, stuff like that made me wonder if Madame Web would use the multiverse, with this news, now I wonder if this movie will have Incursions going on...

Pretty annoying to need to watch MCU movies to understand Sony's stuff if so, MCU is becoming more and more like comic books, on the worst ways lol.

That's just me speculating why Feige would want anything to do with this.

I'm not sure that's the only reason, Venom 2, Spidey home 3, and Morbius all make it clear the universes are connected and can affect each other, and with the rumor that Madame Web will be used as more or less their Doctor Strange, it's possible this movie will use the multiverse, so maybe he's getting more involved to follow some rules and whatever (Even if the rules of the multiverse aren't consistent within MCU itself...).
