The twist is why he kills them. Once he pulled off Martha's pearl necklace and they scattered everywhere he knew they were fake and it made him so mad he shot them.

Yeah, I remember you seeing the color scheme hurt your eyes. Personally I think it's the best live-action interpretation of The Flash in live-action but to each their own.
