The Clayface who attacked Hall of Justice in FCBD Dark Crisis #0 is implied to be Basil Karlo when he said he tried to walked the path of straight and narrow. Probably unaware that the bat books (well, just Nightwing that I know) has been using Preston Payne, because they look identical in clay form.

So as of now, Karlo is alive again, I guess

I didn't see the similarities between both stories until someone here said "there's no JL and a COIE's survivor is trying to resurrect his universe, again"

I think its more due to his current ability to wave his hand and send character to dream world or whatever. Is there any reason to think that Hal vs Pariah fight will end differently? Maybe something will change by the time we get to #3.

Didn't he say some of the covers and preview pages are purposely misleading so people would think the story is something other than what it actually is? I think he also mentioned that after issue 3 people would realize what the story is "really" about.
