Well he is a popular character and a proven draw, they shouldn't be dumb enough to kill someone of value when they don't have many characters like him. Though sometimes those decisions come from the top.

The entire timeline of the DC Universe is at risk and somehow characters Mime and Marionette are connected – as are Rip Hunter and the Time Masters, as well as a mysterious figure DC has named Nostalgia."

So, "helpful Reddit link" isn't an oxymoron?

A white passing one, yes. JLD should have had a pillar with Zatanna

It’s always a battle when DCs most prominent black hero is a lantern. Always has to fight Hal for the space.

Who do you think is "fighting" in this scenario? And why do you assume the fight is against Hal as opposed to the same fight any non-Big7 character has to face? And what "space" are you referring to? John's been the JL's Lantern longer in the modern era than Hal at this point, and Hal was a founding member. Why would it be a "fight" for John to be in Hal's spot in the League?

I could also argue that "DCs most prominent black hero" is Cyborg. Or Black Lightning. John's claim to fame was the JL cartoon, but since then Cyborg has been in cartoons and live action in movies and tv. Black Lightning had a tv show. Static even headlined his own show, whereas John was a member of the Justice League in the cartoon before he was ever an official member in comics ... because Hal was a founding member.

John doesn't have to "fight Hal", he has to fight the same as any character who came after the originals - and he's been doing fine. (a ton better than most of his era)

Wasn't Deathstroke supposed to be corrupted by Great Darkness after he "died" in Shadow War?

the future state justice league fusing into one character like Superman and Batman in Waid's Batman/Superman run is interesting.
