Such a stunningly original cover.
Sampere tweeted it was an homage to the Perez cover.
Nice to know Hal survives.
The Gypsies had no home. The Doors had no bass.
Does our reality determine our fiction or does our fiction determine our reality?
Whenever the question comes up about who some mysterious person is or who is behind something the answer will always be Frank Stallone.

Contrast that with the new cover. Here are the ones that are the same:

J'onn
Aquaman
Firestorm
Hawkman (more or less)
Captain Marvel (that's his name, dammit)
Alan Scott
Dr. Light II

Then you've got, various pre-Crisis creations:
Barry Allen (or is that Wally?)
Cyborg
Raven
Starfire
Donna Troy
Adam Strange
Mr. Miracle
Jade
Obsidian
Batgirl
Supergirl
Red Tornado II
Zatanna
Black Adam
Hal Jordan
Guy Gardner

Arisia
Some post-Crisis creations:

Hawkgirl II
And a handful of post-Flashpoint creations:
Jessica Cruz
Simon Baz
Wonder Girl III
Dr. Fate VIII(?)
Jo Mullien
Jon Kent
... annnd a Green Lantern I can't quite make out.
A few things to note:
- The mix of characters in the new event is going HEAVY on the "families of characters" thing. Six Superman family characters. Four Wonder Womans. Thirteen Green Lanterns. Titans, JLAers, and JSAers galore. If you're looking for "the wild breadth of the DCU," this cover ain't for you. Frankly I kind of feel like the inclusion of Adam Strange, Captain Atom, Will Payton, Red Tornado, and Mr. Miracle feel almost like a "crud, we'd better include SOME characters outside the JLA/JSA/Titans families" sop.
- Still they're both very pretty covers.
- I guess all those Green Lanterns are making up for their absence in the original Crisis
- Seriously, who's that guy in the Anti-Monitor's right fist in the original?
- It's pretty amazing that, in an event story that's trying to push the next generation of heroes, this big ol' battle cover still is primarily comprised of characters that were created over 35 years ago.
