As far as I know, he only has human durability. One hit from the Blob will kill him.

In that case, I'd give this to Blob. Barring some crazy speed I'm not aware of, there's not much stopping Blob from thunderclapping and ending the fight then and there.

I don't recall specific moments per se but if he's strong enough to throw down with Hulk and Colossus and guys on that general level he should be strong enough.

Yeah but he's not strong enough to really throw down with either of those guys at their peak as I recall.

He's hard to move because of his mutant grounding/anchor ability but he's not got anything near the strength feats.

If Matter-Eater Lad has normal human durability, Blob should be able to kill him with one blow.

He's listed as a Class 5, which seems about right for his feats.

That is a good point. See here when Hulk gets good and mad he overpowers Blob.

He has genuinely knocked around Colossus though.

IIRC, Colossus generally needs to get Blob airborne and off his feet to smack him.

I'd put him higher than class 5.

He's able to send Strong Guy flying with a punch and is able to hit the Hulk hard enough to knock him down (doesn't seem to hurt the Hulk that much, but it's still something.)

So we're going from just breaking MEL's neck to pulping him. Some of MEL's stomach acid could spray out of his exploded, ruptured body like Xenomorph blood, though.

Old school MEL had super speed eating-- I recall him snarfing energy blasts out of the air. What the heck is the current version?
