    Default JLA/Avengers returns to print

In partnership with the Hero Initiative, Marvel and DC Comics will re-release a comic most readers probably thought they’d never be able to buy a hard copy of again: Kurt Busiek and George Pérez’s JLA/Avengers. First published in 2003, the book was the last time the Marvel and DC comics universes officially had a crossover.

With the limited release, says a joint Marvel, DC, and Hero Initiative news release, “Hero Initiative is honoring one of George Pérez’s seminal bodies of work and his long-time support of Hero.” Proceeds will go toward a general fundraiser for the Initiative.

Hell yes. Great gesture and I'll be happy to buy as a fan.

This is a great gesture, involving I'm sure legal wrangling with both DC and Marvel.
However... only 7,000 copies? This is going to be a stampede to get one on order as soon as Heroes Initiative releases details. And you know it's going to get allocated, so not everyone that puts in an order will get one. And I'm sure a lot that do get sold will end up on eBay at ridiculous markups.

7000 copies sounds like a joke.

Agreed. They should be raising as much money for the charity as possible, not leaving it open to scalpers due to demand being more than supply. No way that print run should be less than 20k.

I already have this, is the original form and in collectred form, however, I might consider buying this just to pitch in. Marvelous work of art.

    Peace

Man only 7000 copies. DC and Marvel really should do a proper reprint

Yes, with proceeds or portions ,going to Perez himself in his remaining moments or in his name benefiting cancer research.

Already ordered my copy over here in the UK, I've always wanted to read this story (I have the first part in a reprint comic that used to be published over here years ago), but sadly I've just never been able to find it for a decent price.

Hopefully my order comes through as I really want to read this one.

Unfortunately I wouldn't be surprised if a limited run was the only way both Marvel and DC would sign off on something like this, especially with the current corporate structure.

which is great but 7000 x 30 so $210k before distribution and printing costs. It's really too bad Marvel and DC wouldn't agree to doing a proper reprint run and give a percentage of that to Perez's family.

The problem here is that they are only printing 7000 copies at I think it said 29.99. Then it hits ebay and copies start going for hundreds that wont go to the cause or the need. That's a real shame.
