i see Marvel is releasing a slew of Miracleman variant covers in September. i hope that means we're one step closer to actually getting the conclusion of Gaiman's run.

also, once that's complete, i would really like a Miracleman/Sentry crossover (sorry Golden_Guardian). I have no idea what that would even look like or entail, but just the thought of it makes me smile.

Marvel having the rights to Miracleman and finishing the Moore/Gaiman run is like having a Lamborghini. Using Miracleman to team up with the Marvel Universe is using that Lamborghini to shuttle the kids back and forth to soccer practice.

Is there a female version of Miracleman? You know, like Supergirl, Mary Marvel, Batgirl, etc.

There most certainly is a female version, and she has an appearance in...

Thanks! Has she appeared in action, fighting either solo or alongside MM, or was her appearances limited to just this one issue?

She had a fairly big part from issue 10 on (either the original Eclipse series or the Marvel reprint issues).

I have known of this, why not, I'm in my '60s, but I'm sure I've never seen them. Understand the history of course.

I guess I want to know why these characters are important to be added to the Marvel comic universe.

What is gained that is unique or interesting?

Why do we need another character that seems like

    Superman

    or in Marvel,

    Hyperion
    Blue Marvel
    Sentry
    who else?
I want to know why this is important.
Since there seems to be a thread of stories, a 'canon' of stories,

how would this mix in with Marvel?
Are they from another reality altogether?

I would much prefer the Gaiman story to be finished than to just stick him in the 616. Angela and Conan felt weird enough.

Yes and for what it's worth there's also an intelligent Miracle Baby flying around out there.

In my opinion, Miracle Man doesn't really fit in the 616 universe. The Alan Moore run started out as a sort of deconstruction of the superhero genre and ended with MM actually changing the world ( they even did away with money) and the Neil Gaiman version sought to build on that concept. The concept doesn't really work in an universe that's still very much about good guys punching bad guys.

I think a lot creators probably realize this. Todd McFarland bought the character, but didn't find a way to work him into the Spawn universe ( of course legal matters may have figured into that as well). Marvel has the rights for four or five years and hasn't done anything with him beyond reprinting the old stories.

Plus Neil Gaiman and Mark Buckingham will deliver an exciting prelude to their upcoming new chapter of Miracleman!
Being clear, anything else is just superfluous filler. I have no problem with Miracleman stories being done by other creators. I could even accept Miracleman popping through a dimensional rift and making an appearance in some Marvel story, but the truth is that Miracleman's appeal is because of the Moore and Gaiman stuff and THAT story. Miracleman in Marvel is meh for me, but Marvel popping up in Miracleman is something I do not want to see.

What is it with Marvel/DC and their obsession with Alan Moore?
