Yeah, this is right up my alley.
I was impressed with Ram V's work on Justice League: Dark, so I'm curious to see how the execution of his vision will come off with Aquaman. However, I'll probably still wait for the trade.
Aquaman: Andromeda #1 Preview
Writer: Ram V
Artist: Christian Ward
Strong first issue, although I hope the remaining issues will have more Arthur in them.

Strong start. The mood is on-point and the artstyle is pitch-perfect for a story like this. The pacing is a bit meandering (especially considering this is only 3 issues) and the plot a bit thin for what I was expecting, but overall this is very good. I also had forgotten Black Manta was going to be in this, glad he appeared.
I actually liked the human POV. Sometimes it makes these characters feel bigger.
Really good first issue.
Retro315 no more. Anonymity is so 2005.

This reminded me a bit of Submariner: The Depths by Milligan/Ribic, but we had even less Namor in it and I think that maybe that worked better since when he showed up finally it was really built up. Here we see Arthur early, but not much of him and it is hard to care about this generic crew.
Anyway, I hope that next issue is stronger.

I was pretty happy with issue #1. I loved the weird quotes from Yvette's father, setting the otherworldly tone in text to complement the art that was already there.
Amazing! love Ram V wording. Christian Ward art is cool, very refreshing to the eyes. Quite an unique choice to use Andromeda as the title for a deep underwater book
