Bruce Wayne's poorly thought out backup plan, the Batman of Zur En Arrh, continues his reign of terror in Batman #140. In the story "Mindbomb", Zur En Arrh finally reveals his sinister plan for his "pursuit" of justice. Not only will the Dark Knight have to deal with his evil counterpart but he will also face a "brutal" battle with his biggest foe, the Joker. And, in 2024's story arch "Dark Prisons" (Batman #145 – #148), Bruce will reluctantly reunite with someone from his past in order to even have a chance at defeating Zur En Arrh.
Apparently, Zur storyline isn't ending anytime soon.

So a bunch of evil Zur controlled Batman's? Okay.

I wonder who the person from his past is.

I’m going to guess it’s either Ghost-Maker or Failsafe.
I'm currently reading Batman, Detective Comics, DCeased: Dead Planet, Dark Knights: Death Metal, Daredevil, Thor, Nightwing, The Rise of Ultraman and Red Hood and The Outlaws. I'm also trade-waiting the Hickman-era of X-Men comics.

Thus far, Jorge Jimenez to Batman is what Marco Checchetto was to Daredevil and that's the MVP of the series. Zdarsky's storytelling is usually more hit or miss but the art is more often than not, on point. Batman 125 was an improvement from Gotham War but that's not exactly setting the bar too high. I wonder if Zur Batman kills the Joker, will Failsafe come back? It also seems like Zdarsky is setting Vandal Savage up to be a member of Batman rogues gallery.

Okay this plus the marketing headline of how Zur is going to be apart of the "Trinity of Evil" for next years stories alongside Waller and Queen Brainiac, I think its safe to say Zur is going to be the main antagonist and ultimate villain of Z'Darsky's run as a whole.

It's probably someone from The Knight.

That just opens up room for The Batman Who Laugh’s Zur-En-Arrh equivalent, Zur-En-Ahaha.

If I remember right , Grant Morrison brought back Zur for his run which had been used many many years ago.
I think the intention was to just keep it for that purpose and not to have a year's books all about Zur .
Can't Chip come up with anything original ?
I mean this is DC # 1 book again and again . If Batman sales go down , DC is screwed .

Even Gotham War was unable to bring sales down, so...
Also, Zur isn't actually the worst part of the run. I would say it's actually the only interesting thing happening there, even though it's just another ''evil Batman'' route.

Hard to say, sales drop usually with some delay and over time.
And people will usually only see that comic bad after they bought and read it.

Sales on Kings Batman run also didn't went down directly after the wedding issue.

I completely zoned out on Zdarsky's Batman after Tim rescued Bruce from an alternate universe, but has Failsafe made an appearance after he declared mission accomplished?

I feel like the instant Bruce returned, Failsafe should have been all over him, as opposed to hypothetically drinking some mai tais while Bruce and Selina have their 'war'.

I'm guessing he'll be an endgame arc for Zdarsky.
