It looks modern era so maybe not that far in the past.

If I had to guess, I'd say near the day his parents were killed. It's been pretty cliched so far and Zdarsky hasn't done that trope yet.

So I’m not sure if Williamson screwed up and thought Failsafe was after Dark Crisis or was just referencing it for the epilogue, either way could have been clearer since Action Comics 1050 and Batman vs Robin/Lazarus Planet (I assume that’s what those were) are post-Dark Crisis.

I don’t think the Bat-editors would mess with Zdarsky like that as he’s writing.

I would totally read that, imagine if it was the classic purple gloves look.

Romero and Doc Shaner are just really good at invoking a modern classic style.
