The original Time Masters consist of Rip Hunter, a scientist, his brawny buddy, the scientist's girlfriend, and her younger brother.

I dunno, Omega Men seemed like it was pretty similar in concept to Guardians of the Galaxy.

In "Batman--King of the World," JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA 87 (February 1971), Mike Friedrich intentionally created the Heroes of Angor--or Champions of Angor, Assemblers, Justifiers, Meta Militia--as stand-ins for four Avengers: Wandjina--Thor; Silver Sorceress--Scarlet Witch; Blue Jay--Yellow Jacket; Jack B. Quick--Quicksilver.

Wasn't that reciprocal with Marvel's creation of the Squadron Supreme, who are JLA expies?

Yes, but actually it was the previous version of the Squadron Supreme, the Squadron Sinister. Friedrich and Roy Thomas had conspired together to have their pastiche teams appear in each other's books at the same time--with the Squadron Sinister returning in THE AVENGERS 85 (February 1971) on sale in the same month as JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA 87 (February 1971). The Squadron Sinister had already been introduced in a previous issue of AVENGERS.
