Hi there. First time posting in here.

I must admit that I basically have never bothered with the Doctor Strange side of things besides the MCU stuff which I do like and I am pretty excited for MoM.
So picking up the new Strange series wasn't planned but I got curious and checked it out and Im very glad that I did.
Obviously I don't have the same kind of connection to the characters as some of you long-time fans but I loved it for a different reason.

There is this theme in media where even accomplished magicians end up in some kind of melee brawl for some reason. This can often be contributed to certain people seeing magic as lame. Even if you disagree with that notion and I know there are many including me, people being hit by some colored magic bolt and simply falling down is less cinematic and visceral than being punched in the face. That much I have to admit.

So this is exactly where I have to congratulate the new Strange series because it shows how scary magic can actually be. Clea has shown herself to certainly be more ruthless and pragmatic which makes me instantly like her and as such she is the perfect vehicle for it.
When she used portals to cut someones arms off I found myself staring at the page with an open mouth. This is such an obvious and powerful way to utilize magic in combat and still even despite magical fantasy settings being so common in media you only very rarely see magic being employed this way. So bravo.

Consider me a follower from now on who is excited to see where this will all lead

    Loving the book so far!

My only complaint is that it seems a bit odd everytime we see Clea relaxing in the sanctum she's just wearing a towel and drinking wine.

After all she's just been through, and now carrying the burden of two clashing magical systems within her, I think Clea just desperately needs a spa weekend getaway so she can chill and relax. Hanging out on the sofa petting Bats and chatting with Wong over a glass of wine for a couple minutes is the closest thing she's going to get for now, poor thing.

So, what Clea fans think of Doctor Strange MoM?

    spoilers:
I loved her little cameo at the end with the surprisingly-comics accurate outfit. (They even got the leggings right!

I'm also amused that the movie leans into the "warlord-born" aspect Jed is using, as opposed to the naif she was for so long in the comics.
    end of spoilers
