Default The saga of Was New Mutants 25 delayed again???

In looking up the solicitations for the next New Mutants arc I find that issue 25's release date is now listed as April 20. The last announcement was that it was supposed to come out April 6. There was no announcement of another delay to my knowledge. If this is true this will be the third time the book was delayed. It was originally slated to come out in January, then yesterday, then April 6, now April 20. What the heck is going on at Marvel?

Amazon is listing April 20th, too. This is beyond ridiculous.

"New Mutants delayed" is now a pleonasm.

How can the movie be delayed again if it already released? /jk

Marvel didn't think that New Mutants was generating enough profit and sales for them so it keeps on delaying.

They really should change the creative team of New Mutants to boost sales.

It seems that the movie has laid a curse on anything that carries its name.

Give it up already. The only people who has a problem with the creative team of New Mutants is you and the others who got yourselves stomped on by them.

New Mutants by Vita Ayala and Rod Reis is a masterpiece and a modern classic. To be honest, I'm willing to wait as long as it takes.

I understand that Reis has a really unique style, but they should really find a comparable fill-in artist and consistent colorist (the way that X-Men by Duggan has done) so that this book can keep a somewhat regular schedule.

Only a few people like you want to buy New Mutants now judging by the number of comments in this thread and similar New Mutant threads and of course the low monthly sales.

The majority of people aren't interested in the New Mutants anymore due to Ayatal's boring stories and frequent delays in publication.

Marvel still don't want to heed the warning signs and change the creative team.

have you ever taken a statistics class? You can’t use comments from one post on a niche comic book forum to judge interest in a book. Also there’s not much to comment here. “Is New Mutants delayed?” “Yup.” Nothing else to discuss. This isn’t an issue review where we have content to talk about.

Actually if you go back to issue reviews it’s usually a solid amount of positive comments, complaints about the arc being too long even though they were fine with the quality, and then some folks who clearly should have dropped the book a long time ago. And honestly the sales have been pretty consistent with other Dawn of X books that launched at the same time.

I’m glad Marvel doesn’t decide who gets to write books based on some fans projecting their displeasure onto the “majority” of fans.

The initial delay was likely due to the paper and printing issues. The second delay was probably to align with the launch of Destiny of X in April. This third delay is more puzzling. It's perhaps not that big a deal in the grand scheme of things, as it's only 2 weeks and is still in April so is still aligned with the Destiny of X launch, but it seems all the more pointless. It is very frustrating for those of us who have been eagerly awaiting this storyarc. There have been a ton of delays from both Marvel and DC in the last 6 months, but I don't know of any books which have had 3 delays and got pushed back 3 months like this.

This story seems like a big shift from the first arc. Rather than being stretched to 11 issues, it will only be 4 issues. Rather than focusing on a gigantic cast between the New Mutants and the wild bunch kids it is focusing on one particular main character. Rather than jugging half a dozen subplots it'll be focused on one main plot. Rather than being about the day to day lives of problems of the mutants it looks to have a mythic scope and feel. Marvel seems to feel that this will be enough to boost sales of the series, and with proper marketing they'd be right, but I have serious doubts they know what they're doing in terms of marketing. That Destiny of X trailer was horrid in terms of appealing to new or lapsed readers.

Vita has been on the book since December 2020 and we've only gotten through one storyline and the new start just got delayed. I can understand why fans would be upset.
