If Gwen is supposed to be asexual, Marvel is not sending that message when they make a video that plays up her relationship with Miles.

I can't say I'm surprised, it's still mostly fan interpretation than actual canon and that arc of her and Miles is probably the most significant thing people think of.

Not to be mean to her fans but is she really that important to make such a change in her character to begin with, she is not even around much outside of possibly popping up in the upcoming Spider-verse event where is she right now? I mean look America Chavez, where is she? When was the last time we saw her? Prodigy? Was apart of series that got cancelled...hell Iceman was the start and where is he now outside of having been underutilized in Marauders for its run and his own series never amounted to much TBH. So unless the plan to is to have 616 Peter or Miles be the one, which i seriously doubt Marvel would do or else the majority of fans will crucify them, i don't see how this works in a away that is just another cash grab like the Jon Kent situation with any other character.

That sounds like a cop out, i mean say they do so have her be in a same sex relationship and when it goes up in smoke they go "Oh well, we tried, back to a heterosexual relationship".

My Two Cents -

I'm not a fan of Miles X Spider-Gwen. I know she is technically a different character but I cannot shake the feeling Miles is getting Peter's sloppy seconds. Miles has Bombshell and no one else because Bombshell is best girl. Gwen has Emjay. They both deserve better than a retread relationship.

These are fictional characters. I'm criticizing the poor creative decisions, IMHO, not the characters those decisions are foisted upon.

Also, if the genders were reserved I'd have used the same phrase.

From a narrative POV, I prefer Miles to have his unique love interest(s) and other supporting characters rather than biting off Peter whenever possible. It is tedious and lazy writing.
