Default Cover Contest 3/16-3/22: CANCEL CULTURE!!

Ok, this week's theme will be a favorite cover from a now cancelled series. It doesn't have to be the last issue, just from a discontinued run. However, it has to be from something that was planned as an ongoing, so no limited or mini-series. So we're clear...the Inhumans series from 1975 counts, but the Marvel Knight minis from 1999 and 2000 don't. Also, to make it interesting the series has to have been 50 issues or less. Other than that, any genre or format counts...go wild!

And of course the usual RULES apply:
    1) Post One (& ONLY ONE) Cover that fits the theme of this Week's Contest!
    2) Cover must be from a Published Comic Book, Graphic Novel, or Collected Volume!
    3) Covers must be Posted before Voting Begins!
    4) Voting Begins 12 AM Tuesday and Runs Until 12 AM Wednesday PST (3 AM EST)!
    5) Vote by Posting the name in BOLD of the Poster whose cover best fits the theme or that you simply like the most! A vote need not be in bold, but it does make it easier to Count-The-Votes!
    6) The Winner of the Contest is the Entry with the MOST Votes after the Voting-Period!
    7) It's Okay to Discuss the Covers but if you Think Someone's Entry Doesn't Fit the Theme or Violates the Rules, you Don't need to Argue it in the thread, Simply Don't Vote for It!
    8) Plus: Occasionally Voting will Result in a Tie! The Person Who Started the Thread will do the Counting that Week will Usually call for a TIE-Breaking --Vote from Someone who has Not Yet Voted!
    9) AFTER the Tie-Breaker Vote, Voting Ends and the Winner is Declared by The One Who Started the Thread (or assigned surrogate) and Thus will do the Counting.
    10) HAVE FUN!

I couldnt let this contest pass with out using a cover from the all time greatest F Grade hero of all time. Super Pro. it was intended as an ongoing and was in fact cancelled before the rights with the NFL expired. He was a bad hero with bad villains. Even this crossover with Captain America could not boost sales and save this short lived series.

Afterlife With Archie wasn't exactly cancelled, more like it was put on permanent hiatus after ten issues when it's writer, Roberto Aguirre Sacasa left the book to become the showrunner on Riverdale and wasn't replaced. That was in 2016. A pity, it was a damn good book. I hope this entry fits the parameters for this week's contest.

One of the unfortunate "Kirby Kancels" that were too soon in hindsight.

So you want more Howard the Duck stuff? Ok, I guess I will comply. Marvel Treasury Edition was a supersized extravaganza of glorious intent, that lasted for an unexpected 28 magnificently large issues.

As a bonus, both HtD and the Defenders also are pretty much the kings of canceled series.

And as a bonus bonus, this issue featured a character called "The Spanker" who carried a spanking paddle. No joke!

Only three issues and a lot of unanswered questions…

    They're saying I'm cancelled
    There's hair in my lipstick
    There's tea on the counter
    Someone's gone and spilled it
    They're saying I'm cancelled
    They've gone and exposed me
    At least I am getting
    Publicity
Mama I don't wanna be cancelled

After a tryout in Showcase, Bat Lash got his own title in 1968, which lasted for all of seven issues; all of which were graced by glorious Nick Cardy covers. This is my favourite of them.
