Set 14 years after the zombie apocalypse and focusing on new characters. Kinda disappointing. I mean I'll watch it, and it'll probably be pretty good, but it sounds more like a strange Resident Evil fanfic, and it's hard to get excited for that.

Resident Evil is rich with material. It is one part horror and one part Mission Impossible with monsters. Even at its very worst the characters are at least interesting. Such a shame that every adaptation wants to distance itself from the source material as much as possible.

Yup, and I've long ago given up on the film franchise of it. And not interested in this.

Guillermo Del Toro feels like the only person who might understand the arcane gothic elements of the games and how to translate it to film.

Things I love: Batman, Superman, AEW, old films, Lovecraft

Grant Morrison: “Adults...struggle desperately with fiction, demanding constantly that it conform to the rules of everyday life. Adults foolishly demand to know how Superman can possibly fly, or how Batman can possibly run a multibillion-dollar business empire during the day and fight crime at night, when the answer is obvious even to the smallest child: because it's not real.”

Looks better then the recent RE reboot movie, budget wise. But in terms of familiarity I would have no idea this was a Resident Evil show if it wasn't for the name. Tbh I wish the Arklay TV show got made instead.

You still have the CGI cartoons, which is direct Canon.

They better have Lord Salazar and the giant witch woman.

I'd watch if Jake Mueller and Sherry Birkin pop up. They were my favorite team from RE6.

To be fair, the second trailer does look good tho. Objectively speaking.

So bizarre how every adaption misses the point. No one actually wants a Zombie apocalypse. Every game goes out of its way to limit that. Even 7 which was arguably the closest one, still on had a few natons have public outbreaks
