Finally watched the movie. It wasn't terrible. Dakota Johnson is not a lead actress, or maybe not yet...maybe some day but this wasn't her day. The actresses who played the girls (and to be fair, I had never heard of Sydney Sweeney before this movie) were all really good, far better than Dakota or Tahar Rahim, who while looked the part nicely...likewise can't act.
A lot of disappointment in the movie comes from the fact that the girls were set up to be their alter egos and that didn't really happen. we got to see them in flashes of the future. Really disappointed in that. The movie might have been a ton better had we gotten them instead? who knows. Wasn't there supposed to be something about them having to protect Mary Parker as well? I seemed to recall that being one of the premises of the movie, not just that Ezekial has a bad dream about three girls beating him up so he decides to kill them and Cassandra Webb saves them through fortune cookie, obviously not really, but still.
It was alright as far as movies go. I did buy it for $14 off amazon...not the worst movie I've ever bought.
