The trailer was terrible and bizarrely very CW looking. The reviews could be fitting to that.

This is another nail in the coffin for the superhero genre. The genre is as big of a joke as it was in 1997 when Batman and Robin was released.

It is going to take maybe Matt Reeves The Batman sequel to bring back some credibility to the genre.

Get the solid actress and character and quality writing and you will be fine. I am certain if Marvel announced a Scarlet Witch film with Elizabeth Olsen returning and a quality writer it would be a solid hit.

Considering the writers also worked on Dracula Untold, The Last Witch Hunter, Gods of Egypt, Power Rangers and Morbius - Madame Web didn't have a chance.
