Liz overall has been a miserable character all 'round to have in the Spider mythos. She's never allowed to have a real connection with Peter, they never know whether she's an ally or just as bad as Norman depending on how overprotective she is of Normie.

Hell, MC2 isn't even that good to her, while she finds happiness with Foggy Nelson, Normie's descent into madness proves too much for her and she dies of an illness, and doesn't get to see her redeem the Osborn name and reconcile with Mayday and her family.

I miss seeing Betty as Peter's love interest...

Apparently Betty was based on Stan Lee's secretary, Florence "Fabulous Flo" Steinberg. Ditko seemingly had a crush on her, but she declined when he did ask her out.

If this is true, it's not a mystery why the Peter x Betty ship never went anywhere. (And also why Ditko wanted to kill Betty. But Stan said "no" to that, and Ditko ultimately agreed with Stan on that.)

They were still in love when he 'died', Betty only moved on at the time because she had no choice, and even then she could never make it work with Flash no matter how many times they tried.

Betty and Peter Parker could have worked as well. The only other love interest for Peter(besides MJ) is Betty Brant. Also, why would she ever name her child Wilson? That's a huge clue that will have a very big implications.

Why is it that everytime you make a thread about a female supporting character or another superheroine, it always has the caveat that you want them to be hung up over Peter? Just write fanfiction already.
