Oh this is hard actually, because I'm thinking of what they're doing in the Justice League book specifically and realize I don't have a strong preference.
It's not Martian Manhunter though. He's too zen for my taste.
In a team dynamic I like the shit starter or the shit calmer meaning its Hal Barry or Super Bat for starts.

Y'know, I thought long and hard about this... NOT! (yeah, I'm bringin' that back )
The Why:
-- I first saw GL on the Superfriends where he seemed the same power level as Superman, but wasn't as well known, which I found intriguing.
-- Hal was a super capable and worthy human. It's why he got the ring - he didn't have power thrust on him and then worked to be better, he had already put in the work as a non-powered person, which is what makes him a super capable hero.
-- Hal is Hal. He doesn't hide behind an alternate persona. He's very comfortable with himself and that's why he's best friends with Ollie and Barry and was also close to Clark and Dinah.
-- Hal's a man of action, which doesn't mean reckless or thoughtless. He's put in his 10K hours so that his brain works on "rapid cognition" the way athletes do where his gut reactions are correct in most cases. He's honed instincts for how to react in dangerous situations, rather than overthink things or waste time on doubt.(when written "correctly.")
-- Green and Black is a great combo.

Shocking nobody, I voted for Barry
"My name is Wally West. I'm the fastest man alive!"
I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.
Taking it one by one, Hal stands out because he's fun
Batman because he's such a broody straight man that the other can "bully" for comedy
Diana can be scarily angry or the voice of peace and reason depending on the story
Barry's just nice and pleasant
Superman... he either the first go gets taken away or possessed because he's the strongest piece... or that AND he's the one who gets the epic save of the day moment, because he's the strongest
Arthur is another one that doesn't stand out to me unless the story is about him, so Arthur's out.
Barry Allen The Flash.
The Flash is my favorite character. Always has been. Wally is my #1 favorite but all the Flashes rock to me. I especially loved how he was written prior to his return in 2009.
Read The Flash#1 this September!
Martian Manhunter. Basically, because, since he was the one I least knew about, he was the one I wanted to find out more about. And I still think he is the one with most potential to be explored.
Peace
I'm going back to the original Silver Age stories for forming my opinion, and I choose Barry from the pre-CoIE early-1960s.
A three way tie between Clark, J'onn, and Barry, but J'onn needed the most love in the poll.
You are my favorite thing, Peter. My very favorite thing.
Superman shot up in my ranking because the tends to get the most epic shot, but Bruce and Hal are still very entertaining, so I'm not done yet
Barry's out. I really, really like him, but the stand out moments are not enough, probably because for most of my life he's dead
A bat! That's it! It's an omen.. I'll shall become a bat!

Considering "my" founders are the post-COIE five member team, I went with Green Lantern (but Aquaman's a close second!).
