This isn't necessarily about romantic love. I highlighted what I think is really about C and D. About their love for the city in the end of it all always and how they don't like to see so much pain in their city. "Reach out from the inside" makes me think of Cloaks cape and it goes well with this cover and then there is Daggers light and heat. I think the bolded is particularly C&D. It can be about both if people want.
I get so lost, sometimes
Days pass and this emptiness fills my heart
When I want to run away
I drive off in my car
But whichever way I go
I come back to the place you are
All my instincts, they return
And the grand facade, so soon will burn
Without a noise, without my pride
I reach out from the inside
In your eyes
The light, the heat
(Your eyes)
I am complete
(Your eyes)
I see the doorway to a thousand churches
(Your eyes)
The resolution of all the fruitless searches
(Your eyes)
I see the light and the heat
(Your eyes) I want to be that complete
I want to touch the light
The heat I see in your eyes
In your eyes
In your eyes
In your eyes
Love, I don't like to see so much pain
So much wasted and this moment keeps slipping away
I get so tired of working so hard for our survival
I look to the time with you to keep me awake and alive
And all my instincts, they return
And the grand facade, so soon will burn
Without a noise, without my pride
I reach out from the inside
In your eyes
The light, the heat
(Your eyes)
I am complete
(Your eyes)
I see the doorway to a thousand churches
(Your eyes)
The resolution of all the fruitless searches
(Your eyes)
I see the light and the heat
(Your eyes) I want to be that complete
I want to touch the light
The heat I see in your eyes
In your eyes
In your eyes
In your eyes
Accepting all I've done and said
I want to stand and stare again
'Til there's nothing left, woah
It remains there in your eyes
Whatever comes and goes
Oh, it's in your eyes
Oops ...never mind

I know there are songs that are actually about Nelson Mandela, but I wanted to feature one of my favorite German artists. Her father was a South African refugee in Germany. She now sings in English and recently became the first German artist ever to sign with Motown records. This song about her grandparents in Apartheid era South Africa is from early on in her career.
Ookla the Mok isn't alone in writing songs about comic book characters. Here is Leslie Hudson, live!
