Post Best Chris Claremont's NON-X books run

Chris Claremont has a long history of writing a lot of X-books in Marvel. But now my questions is, whichNOT related X-books is your favourite run from him?

His fantastic Four run was really good imo. Salvador art was really good on it too.

The scene with Valeria holding franky as they were about to get attacked and going "mommy..." only for sue to come in and wreck things for messing with her kids. I was like "YEEEEEEEEEEEEES!!!" lol

I have a soft spot for his 4 issue run on WildC.A.T.S. in the early 90s, he really brought characters like Zealot and Voodoo to life for me in a way Jim Lee and Brandon Choi didn't manage to do before.

Fantastic Four with Salvador Larroca was fun, especially towards the end.

I really wanted to like Sovereign Seven at DC was it was always hit or miss for me.

Back in the Seventies they’d put guys like Claremont on the most random books, and he’d deliver…:
John Carter, Warlord of Mars #16-27, Annual #3 (1978-1979)
    Iron Fist vol. 1 #1-15 (1975-1977)
    Ms. Marvel #3-23 (1977-1979)
    Marvel Team-Up vol. 1 #57-70, 74–77, 79–86, 88–89, 100, Annual #1-2 (1976-1980)

No one’s captured Excalibur like Claremont. He balanced soap opera drama/humor/action perfectly.
    Excalibur vol. 1 #1-19, 21–25, 27, 32–34, Special Edition (1987-1991)

So many! Fantastic Four, his WildC.A.T.S. story (Tapestry is still my fave villain.), Spider-Woman, Ms. Marvel! All fun runs.

    His Fantastic Four was excellent.

Marvel Team-Up was brilliant, something highlighted by how horrendous the relaunched book was.

the FF run was fun as it felt like it used X concepts and some characters. I think oddly enough even the Technet got an appearance.

I was already reading it and I was so excited to hear that Claremont was teaming up with Lee again. My choice. I also ended up enjoying it and his OC's. If Excalibur wasn't considered an X-Book which I usually, don't I would add that.

His Gen13 run is the one I've eternally mourned getting cut short. To this day it drives me crazy, the whole premise of that run was there was this mysterious figure named Herod going around giving random kids superpowers and then killing them a year later and we never got to find out what his whole deal was or why. Gaaaaaah.

In agreement with you about Iron Fist. The Claremont run is an all-time classic (IMHO):

If Excalibur were allowed, then that would be another exceptional choice. The Claremont run was tops, as long as Alan Davis was around (XD)

    ^^^classic indeed!
Claremont’s final issue where Danny holds his own against 4 of the X-Men is one of my favorite single issues of all time.

    ^^^Oh yeah, ha!
I never considered Excalibur an X book, so I blanked on the OP stips. I mean yeah the team had mutants but it was very much it’s own thing. I think that’s one reason I’ve never enjoyed the reboots, as iExcalibur became just another X book.

And Claremont/Davis was an incredible collaboration.
Claremont/Byrne will always come in first in terms of well, everything they did that still impacts the industry today, but Claremont/Davis was just brilliant off the wall fun.

Speaking of tangentially-related X-books, I always liked that Witchblade/Wolverine crossover one-shot from the mid naughies. Almost made me wish Sara and Logan were in the same universe and a regular item.
