Yanks are making Judge an 8 year $300 million offer, with the promise to meet and beat any other offer. Rumor is the Phillies for Trea Turner. in excess of $30 million per year.

First major signing of the offseason...

Right-hander Jacob deGrom has signed a five-year, $185 million contract with the Texas Rangers, sources tell ESPN. Physical is passed. Deal is done. Includes conditional sixth-year option that would take total deal to $222 million. Full no-trade clause. A massive haul.

With the new schedule. the NL East would have seen a lot less of him even if he had stayed in the NL East. The number of division games is way down in the new schedule set up.

I wouldn't be opposed to more perpetual bottom feeder AL teams luring Mets stars away for hilariously bloated contracts while we're at it

Fred Mcgriff has been elected to the hall of fame by unanimous vote of the era committee, that makes me happy.

Interestingly it seems there isn’t much support for Bonds or Clemens there either, neither got to 4 votes(12 needed)

In response for DeGrom leaving the Mets for the Rangers, the Mets sign Verlander, 2 years, $86 million.

Just heard about the signing. That figures to be trouble for the Phillies and Braves.

yeah but I'd still rather see Verlander than deGrom, also the Mets now have a LOT of money tied up in two very old arms

The Phillies snared SS Trey Turner on what’s reported as an 11 year, $300 million dollar deal.
